Disco Biscuits Kick Off Tour With Two-Day Festival

The New Deal, Lake Trout, Prince Paul, others to join improv-rockers during Bisco Knights.

Funky fixtures of the improvisational rock and DJ scenes will converge in Wilmington, Delaware, for the two-day opening of the Disco Biscuits fall tour.

On hand August 25 and 26 to help the Biscuits to kick off the jams, as it were, will be DJ Josh Wink, live house trio The New Deal, Baltimore ambient architects Lake Trout, Philadelphia improv-rockers Brothers Past, rising pedal steel star Robert Randolph and the Handsome Boy Modeling Club member Prince Paul, according to the Disco Biscuits' publicist.

Following the weekend get-together at the Kahuna Club, the Disco Biscuits will take off on their own beginning September 4 in New Haven, Connecticut. The trek crosses the country to wind down in Santa Ana, California, on September 30.

Although confirmed dates are sporadic after that — additional bookings are expected to round out the itinerary, however — the Disco Biscuits will stay on the road throughout the rest of the year in support of their most recent album, They Missed the Perfume, released in April. Recorded entirely on a Macintosh G4, the six-song album contains more than 50 minutes of free-form music rife with techno, rock, jazz, dub and classical influences.
