Uncle Kracker To Appear In 'Drew Carey Show,' Big Screen Concert
Move over Kid Rock, Uncle Kracker has a new partner.
Kracker will team up with comedian Drew Carey in the fall when he appears in
an episode of the ABC sitcom "The Drew Carey Show." The show will be taped
August 20 and aired later in the season, Kracker's Atlantic Records
spokesperson said.
Before he makes it to the tube, Kracker will hit the big screen. Aside from
appearing in "Osmosis Jones" and lending a song to that film's soundtrack
(see [article id="1445286"]"Kid Rock, St. Lunatics, Uncle Kracker Do 'Osmosis Jones'"[/article]) and one to
"American Pie 2" (see [article id="1444240"]"3 Doors Down, Sum41, Green Day On 'Pie 2'
Soundtrack"[/article]), he will also appear in a groundbreaking live concert in
theaters nationwide.
On August 15, Cinema Presents will launch their new digital in-cinema
network with a live broadcast of a Sugar Ray and Uncle Kracker concert in 44
theatres in 21 states across North America, from Fayetteville, Arkansas, to
Waukesha, Wisconsin.
The concert will be taped at the Tabernacle in Atlanta and broadcast
in SurroundSound. It will also include backstage interviews.
Cinema Presents plans to bring other live concerts and sporting events to
theaters across the country following the Sugar Ray and Uncle Kracker debut.
Uncle Kracker's album Double Wide recently went platinum on
the strength of the hit single "Follow Me."
