Wyclef Jean, 98 Degrees, Estefan Collaborate On MS Fund-Raiser

All-star version of 'Lean on Me' to appear on benefit album

Wyclef Jean, 98 Degrees and Gloria Estefan have teamed up with other artists to record an all-star version of "Lean on Me" to raise money to fight multiple sclerosis.

The single, a remake of soul singer Bill Withers' #1 hit from 1972, will appear on The Race to Erase MS: Keeping the Dream Alive, set for release June 5, according to the Race to Erase MS organization. The song also includes vocals by Meredith Brooks, Sophie. B. Hawkins, actor Jim Belushi, Donny Osmond and TV talk-show host Montel Williams, who was diagnosed with the degenerative nerve disease in 1999.

The album will also have previously released material from Destiny's Child ("Jumpin', Jumpin' "), Brian McKnight ("The Only One for Me"), R. Kelly ("Home Alone") and Mandy Moore ("Candy").

McKnight will join Stevie Wonder and Donna Summer at a fund-raising event on May 18 at the Century Plaza Hotel in Century City, California. Jennifer Lopez is scheduled to appear, but will not perform, according to a spokesperson for the organization.

(MTV's parent company, Viacom, also owns VH1, which is a financial sponsor of the May 18 event.)

There's no cure for MS, which affects nearly 3 million Americans.
