Slipknot Playing Stateside Shows Before Heading Overseas

String of four Midwest dates begins May 4 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

With most of the work on their new, as-yet-untitled album behind them, Slipknot will play four U.S. dates before heading to Europe for a few weeks, according to the group's publicist.

The masked, nine-member horror show will play its first U.S. show in more than five months on May 4 in the comfortable confines of the group's home state of Iowa, at Cedar Rapids' Five Seasons Center. From there, Slipknot plan on slipping into in Peoria, Illinois' Civic Center Arena on May 5 and Duluth, Minnesota's Duluth Entertainment Convention Center Arena on May 7 before wrapping things up Stateside May 8 in Fargo, North Dakota's Fargo Civic Auditorium.

The group's overseas trek will begin May 17 and run through June, after which the guys will take the main stage for this year's Ozzfest tour, which begins June 8 (see [article id="1439031"]"Black Sabbath Will Headline Ozzfest"[/article]).

Slipknot's second album, the follow-up to their 1999 eponymous LP, is due July 24 (see [article id="1442300"]"Slipknot Set Release Date For New Album"[/article]), but there's a chance its release could be bumped up a week, their publicist said.
