The Backstreet Boys can rest a little more soundly now that they have some definite direction in their lives.
The Boys' previously announced summer tour (see [article id="1441540"]"Backstreet Boys Map Out Summer Tour"[/article]), which begins June 8 in their hometown of Orlando, Florida, has just added venues to its itinerary. The trek is in support of the group's latest album, the multiplatinum Black & Blue, which has sold nearly 5 million copies since its release in November, according to SoundScan.
Reggae-pop star Shaggy, with the momentum of his fifth album, Hotshot, at his back, and 19-year-old singer/pianist Krystal, whose Me and My Piano is scheduled for a summer release on the Boys' own as-yet-untitled label, will open all the dates of the tour.
Over the weekend, the group was in Mexico City wrapping up the first stretch of a world tour that began January 22 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida (see [article id="1438424"]"Backstreet Boys Put On Larger-Than-Life Tour Opener"[/article]). The vocal quintet has about a month of rest and relaxation scheduled before the globetrotting excursion rolls on to South America and Puerto Rico.
