XTC Plans To Greet The Public For New Album

With the release of their first studio album in seven years looming, the eclectic pop outfit XTC will soon get up close and personal with fans to trumpet the release.

When "Apple Venus Vol. 1" hits stores this Tuesday, the band will launch a two-week string of in-store appearances that will see the group greet fans and sign copies of the new record.

The album, which arrives courtesy of TVT Records, is XTC's first studio effort since 1992's "Nonsuch." In the years following that release, the band has put out a string of greatest hits compilations and reissues, and last fall put out a four-disc box set of live material dubbed "Transistor Blast.
