Widespread Panic Plans Summer Tour
Widespread Panic has mapped out dates for its spring tour, which kicks off April 1 with the first of three dates in the band's birthplace of Athens, Georgia.
The Southern sextet released its seventh album, "'Til The Medicine Takes," last year, and the experimental affair found the band bringing some ambitious elements to the mix, including synth loops and even turntable scratching courtesy of Big Ass Truck's Colin Butler (see [article id="1435218"]"Widespread Panic Explains Taking Experimental 'Medicine'"[/article]).
Panic spreads their brand of rock romps on thick while they're onstage, and to date, they're the only band that can claim to have helped set a Friday attendance record at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival -- which, since April 30, 1997, now stands at 63,000 after the band beat out the previous turnout record set by the reigning kings of the genre, Phish, in 1996.Here's where and when you can catch the band close to home:- 4/1 - Athens, GA @ Classic Center
