3rd Bass Return With Performance At Hilfiger Party

Reunited rap act 3rd Bass performed at a surprise birthday bash at Studio 450 on Tuesday night in New York for Tommy Jeans vice president Andy Hilfiger, brother of designer Tommy.

MC Serch, Prime Minister Pete Nice and DJ Daddy Rich ran through a short but sweet three-song set that included "Pop Goes the Weasel," "The Gas Face" and one free-styled number. The performance marked the band's first time onstage since the days of its 1991 "Derelicts of Dialect" tour.

[article id="1451132"]"We're hooking up with Tommy Hilfiger throwing a party for his brother Andy,"[/article] Pete Nice told MTV News, [article id="1451132"]"and Daddy Rich, Serch and myself, we're taking the mic out of the closet so-to-speak and pretty much the first time we've performed in like, what...I think the last show we did was at Rutgers [seven years ago]."[/article]

[article id="1451132"]"At the time,"[/article] Nice recalled of the band's last gig, [article id="1451132"]"I thought I was having a heart attack, I was in the emergency room and then I was [done with the band] soon after that. So I think this is the first time we've been flowing together, on the stage together since then." [28.8 RealVideo][/article]
