Take That Reunion Unlikely

October 30 [14:00 EDT] -- The proposed reunion of Britain's defunct Take That at a memorial concert for Princess Diana is looking about as rocky as the band's soap opera past.

The British press has been reporting that the band, which has generated as much drama as Oasis in their homeland, was attempting at least a partial reunion for a December 9 memorial fundraiser. As it turns out, while both Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams have agreed to play the concert, they won't perform together. The other members won't appear at all.

The teen heartthobs imploded in a seething mass of ill will mostly caused by Williams, who quit or was turfed from the group -- depending on who you believe -- in mid-1995. The group disbanded the following year.

Williams, who has just released a solo album, is in the British headlines almost as often as Liam Gallagher. In one recent escapade, the 23-year old performed his final song at a concert in Manchester earlier this month stark naked.

Williams is also currently in litigation with their former manager over commissions. The trial has brought out all sorts of sordid tales of Williams' well traveled road from fresh-faced wholesome teen to drug-and-drink-addled rock star.
