Weiland, only recently emerged from a court-ordered course of drug treatment that had forced his group to cancel a fully scheduled tour last summer, admitted to bandmates that he was having trouble staying straight, and voluntarily checked himself into a California rehab facility, where he's now being treated.

Weiland knew when he embarked on the latest Stone Temple Pilots tour that staying clean wouldn't be easy, and that a lot was at stake, as he told us not long ago.

WEILAND: Not to use cliches, 'cause I hate that s***, when people do that. But, it is really a thing about today, I don't know what will happen tomorrow or next week, I could be strung out again But right now I'm enjoying my life, and every moment I'm on stage with the band, we look at each other and smile... It's like f*** I love you guys, and it just feels so great. I really couldn't imagine anything f**king it up right now.
