Stern Topples "Empire" At Box Office
March 10 [7:55 EST] -- The Empire couldn't squash the Rebel uprising, but Howard Stern did.
The radio personality, who many feel is a darker figure than Darth Vader, saw his biopic "Private Parts" unseat George Lucas' retooled "Star Wars" trilogy [See also the MTV Star Wars Special] from the top of the box office heap.
Stern's romantic comedy (yes, it's a romantic comedy) took in $15.1 million to earn the top spot, as "The Empire Strikes Back" pulled in $8 as it slipped to fourth.
