Spin Doctors Win Case Against Miller Beer

May 21 [16:00 EST] -- Advertisers take note: if you want to use a band's song, you should probably pay them first.

The "Los Angeles Times" reports that the Spin Doctors won their copyright infringement lawsuit against the Miller Brewing Company. A federal jury reportedly found that the music Miller used in a spot for Miller Lite Ice was "substantially similar" to the band's 1992 breakthrough hit "Two Princes.

The "Times" reports that the case enters the damages phase on Wednesday, with the Spin Doctors seeking $11.5 million from Miller.

The band filed suit against Miller after seeing the Miller spot in 1995.
