Third Eye Blind, Matthew Sweet, Sixpence None The Richer Headed To Sundance

Aspiring new actors, directors, and producers will descend upon Park City, Utah beginning this week for the 2000 Sundance Film Festival, and Third Eye Blind, Matthew Sweet, and Sixpence None The Richer will all participate in the fest's music event.

The Elks Lodge in Park City will be converted into the Sundance Film Festival Music Studio from January 23 -26, with more than twenty bands scheduled to play across the four nights.

Unfortunately, the concerts will be closed to the public, and admission will be provided via invitation only. But those lucky enough to get in to the Lodge will also be treated to 30-minute sets from the likes of the Verve Pipe's Brian Vander Ark, Duncan Sheik, Blues Traveler's John Popper, Angie Aparo, and Janis Ian, among others.

The Music Studio concert series will culminate in the Sundance festival's first rap and hip-hop showcase on the 26th, featuring performances from Donell Jones, Malik Pendleton, and Kevon Edmonds.

In addition to the private Sundance gig, Third Eye Blind has also signed on to headline the WebDance 2000 party in Park City, an event being sponsored by entertainment Web site ReelPreviews.com and scheduled for January 25 at Harry O's.

The 2000 Sundance Film Festival will begin screening both "independent" and studio-produced pictures on January 20, with awards to be presented during a ceremony on January 29. All of the prize-winning films will then be exhibited on the Sundance Festival's final day, on January 30.
