Duncan Sheik Heads To Albania To Help Kosovo Refugees

Duncan Sheik will be giving the gift of music to homeless refugee children who have been displaced by the war in Kosovo.

The refugees, who are now living in misery and squalor in camps in neighboring Albania, will be receiving a visit next week from the American singer, who will be handing out guitars and percussion instruments under the aegis of the group Warchild USA.

Sheik will also be searching for adult musicians in the camps, and if all goes well, he'll try to stage a little concert at week's end. Video, no doubt, will follow.

Warchild was established in 1994 to help the children of Bosnia. The non-profit organization now focuses on helping young people around the world who are affected by conflict and violence.

Sheik's sojourn to Albania, as well as other Warchild endeavors, will undoubtedly be helped along finanically by benefits such as this year's "Pavarotti & Friends" concert. The June 1 event will feature Ricky Martin and Mariah Carey (among others) and will

benefit Warchild's Kosovo effort as well as its fund for children in Guatemala (see [article id="1426933"]"Ricky Martin, Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson, Others To Join Pavarotti For Benefit"[/article]).
