Lou Reed's Debut For Reprise To Be Live

Lou Reed will be will making his Reprise debut with a live album.

A spokesperson for Reed confirms that the CD, due most likely in late April, will include Reed classics from regular performances as well as new songs from his rock opera, "Time Rocker.

As we previously reported (see [article id="1433689"]"Lou Reed Back With Rock Opera, New Label"[/article]), the opera, by Robert Wilson, was staged for 10 performances last fall at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in Brooklyn, New York. Reed wrote 16 new songs for the production, which is loosely based on H.G.Wells' "The Time Machine.

The album will be the Velvet Underground veteran's first live offering in 20 years. His previous effort, 1978's "Take No Prisoners," was recorded at the Bottom Line in New York City.
