It looks like the Red Hot Chili Peppers will walk away from Thursday night's 2000 MTV Video Music Awards with at least one statuette.

It was announced on Wednesday that the Chili Peppers will be honored with the network's Video Vanguard Award at Thursday night's VMAs. Comedian Chris Rock will be on hand at New York's Radio City Music Hall to present the Chili Peppers with the award, which recognizes the band's "outstanding contribution to the music video medium."

MTV also announced that Venus and Serena Williams, Mark Wahlberg, Gisele Bundchen, D'Angelo, Renee Zellweger, Toni Braxton, Jimmy Fallon, Wyclef Jean, and WWF superstar Chyna will join Jennifer Lopez, Robert De Niro, Fred Durst, Jakob Dylan, Macy Gray, Kate Hudson, Kid Rock, Lenny Kravitz, L.L. Cool J, Moby, Pink, Ben Stiller, U2's Bono and Larry Mullen, Tenacious D, 98 Degrees, Destiny's Child, Dr. Dre, Eve, "Survivor" winner Richard Hatch, Lil' Kim, Ricky Martin, Nelly, Snoop Dogg, Sting, The Rock, Metallica's Lars Ulrich, and others at the award show.
