Sting is back with a new album, a tour, and a remake of a classic soundtrack song.

In September, Sting will be releasing "Brand New Day," his first record since 1996's "Mercury Falling." The album was recorded in Italy, France, and the U.S. and features guests including Stevie Wonder, Branford Marsalis, James Taylor, and Talvin Singh. The new CD is scheduled for release on September 27, with the title song released as the first single two to three weeks in advance of that date.

The former Police frontman has also recorded a new version of "The Windmills of Your Mind" for the remake of the 1968 movie "The Thomas Crown Affair" which stars Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo. The movie opens in the U.S. on August 6. The original, which starred Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway, saw the song garner an Oscar for composer Michel Legrand and lyricists Alan and Marilyn Bergman.

Sting has also announced a 71-date world tour, which kicks off in Las Vegas on October 14. He's scheduled to play

New Years Eve at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City before he heads to Europe for three months of extensive touring beginning in early January.
