Wallflowers To Open Pearl Jam Benefit Shows

In a case which might have some fans wondering who should open for whom, Pearl Jam has tapped the Wallflowers to open the two Seattle shows the band is staging as benefits for local charities.

Proceeds from the concerts, set for July 21 and 22 at Seattle's Memorial Stadium, will be donated to no less than ten organizations, including public schools, several Native American groups and a local skateboard park.

Last month Pearl Jam announced openers for most its upcoming U.S. tour (see [article id="1425943"]"Spacehog, Mudhoney, Frank Black..."[/article]), and artists ranging from Frank Black and Iggy Pop to Mudhoney and X have been slotted for different legs of Jam's tour, which kicks off on June 20 in Missoula, Montana.

Pearl Jam has still yet to announce who will open for the band on its last stretch of dates, which include concerts scheduled for mid-August in New York and Boston.
