The Who And Eddie Vedder Add One More Night

If you'd like to see Eddie Vedder open up for his friends and idols in The Who, you now have one more chance.

Vedder, backed by his pals in C Average, has been slated to open for the legendary British band when it reunites for a gig at the House Of Blues in Chicago on November 13 (see [article id="1433064"]"Eddie Vedder And C-Average To Open For The Who"[/article]).

That show, unsurprisingly, sold out in minutes. Luckily for those fans who missed out, a second concert (again with Vedder opening) has been announced for November 12.

Tickets for that show will go on sale this Saturday; vouchers with a two-ticket maximum will be issued at the House Of Blues Box Office in Chicago by lottery from 7 a.m. through 9 p.m. (CST). The lottery drawing will begin at 9:15 a.m. and tickets are available by cash only at the House Of Blues. Tickets can also be purchased from Ticketmaster by phone at noon (CST); be advised, though, that the tickets are $300 each.

The concert is a benefit for the Maryville Academy, a residential child care facility in Illinois for physically, sexually and emotionally abused children. Townshend has played benefits in Chicago for the Maryville Academy for the past two years, although this is the first time he has invited his former bandmates to play with him.

The Who's lineup will consist of Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey, and John Entwistle, all of whom were founding members of the band. They will be accompanied by drummer Zak Starkey, the son of former Beatle Ringo Starr, and keyboardist John "Rabbit" Bundrick.

A few weeks earlier, on October 30 and 31, The Who will share the stage with Vedder and his other band, Pearl Jam, at Neil Young's annual Bridge School benefit concert, which will also feature sets by Billy Corgan and James Iha of the Smashing Pumpkins, Sheryl Crow and Young himself, among others (see [article id="1427631"]"The Who, Tom Waits In; CSNY Out For Bridge School

Benefit"[/article]). Tickets for the October 30 show are sold out, though tickets remain for the October 31 show as of press time.
