'NSYNC Plans New Single, Album, Tour
Despite the legal tug-of-war that the group now finds itself in with its former manager, Louis J. Pearlman, the men of 'NSYNC are planning to forge ahead with a new album and a new single.
Speaking with MTV News' John Norris before taking the stage at Wednesday's LIFEbeat AIDS benefit in New York, 'NSYNC's Chris Kirkpatrick said that the group will release a new single, "Bye, Bye, Bye," in January. The group's record label, Jive Records, said that a new single has not been chosen yet, though "Bye, Bye, Bye" is in the running.
Kirkpatrick also said that the group plans to release its new album, the optimistically titled "No Strings Attached," in February or March and then expects to tour behind the release in the spring and summer of next year.Pearlman and his Trans Continental Media had tried to block the group from using the 'NSYNC name as part of its $150 million lawsuit against the boys and their new record label, Jive Records. However, a Florida judge denied Pearlman'srequest for an injunction against 'NSYNC last week, allowing the group to continue to record and release music under the 'NSYNC banner (see [article id="1432531"]"'N Sync Scores Small Victory As Legal Battle Begins"[/article]).
