Alanis "Unplugged" LP To Feature New Tracks, Police Cover

With the Alanis Morissette "MTV Unplugged" set to premiere next Monday at 11 p.m. (ET) as part of the first day of Spankin' New Music Week, more details have emerged about the accompanying album, which is due out on November 23.

Morissette's new live disc, titled "Alanis Unplugged," will feature twelve songs from the singer's performance at the Brooklyn Academy of Music last month, including "You Oughta Know," "You Learn," Uninvited," and a cover of The Police's "King Of Pain.

Alanis Unplugged" also features renditions of three previously unreleased songs, the first of which, "No Pressure Over Cappuccino," Morissette performed during the "Jagged Little Pill" tour.

The other new songs, "Princes Familiar" and "These R The Thoughts," were originally written for Morissette's last album, "Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie." Some tunes not making the stripped-down album include "Thank U" and "Baba," although the latter will be shown as part of the "MTV Unplugged"

session.

Maverick Records has made a digital download of the live "Thank U" available to fans who preorder the "Unplugged" LP, and the label is planning to make other exclusive tracks from the session available through similar promotional tie-ins.
