Feb. 3 [16:00 EST] -- John Mellencamp will take to the theaters and clubs of America when he launches a scaled-down theater tour on March 10 in Detroit.

For the "Mr. Happy Go Lucky Theater Tour" (Mellencamp's first major tour in three years), Mellencamp will be joined by a seven-piece band and will play multiple dates in each city he visits.

The artist formerly known as John Cougar is touring in support of his latest album, "Mr. Happy Go Lucky," which is his 14th for Mercury Records.
