Millions of struggling musicians dream of the kind of week that Static-X is having.

On Wednesday, the self-proclaimed "disco death metal" purveyors announced a deal with Macintosh that will see the band's video for "Push It" flashed in front of every user of Apple's new operating system, MacOS 9. The clip will be carried on MacOS 9's installer CD-ROM an example of the QuickTime media player.

The video will also hit millions of eyes in a more conventional outlet as the video was named a "Buzzworthy" clip at MTV this week. For the stop-motion animated freak-out, the band teamed with director Mick Olszewski, who cut his teeth working on videos for Tool (for more on the making of the video, see [article id="1432992"]"Static-X Waving Disco Death Metal Flag With Video, Ozzfest Dates"[/article]).

The swell of momentum comes just as the band prepares to take the opening slot on Megadeth's U.S. tour, which gets rolling on Friday in Tucson, Arizona. Metal institution
