Magic Johnson is helping Maxwell hit the road.

The retired basketball legend's Magic Johnson Productions is promoting the ultra smooth R&B hitmaker's upcoming U.S. tour, which will kick off October 7 in Minneapolis.

Maxwell, whose "Embrya" recently debuted at number three on the "Billboard" album chart, will bring a nine-piece band along for the tour, which will run through the end of November. The tour itinerary is still shaping up, but so far the singer plans to hit Chicago, Detroit, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Washington D.C., Boston, New York, Atlanta, New Orleans, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Oakland.
