Richmond City Council Allows Marilyn Manson To Play

Back in the real world, meanwhile, it's not news anymore when blue noses start hitting on Marilyn Manson, but it is news when Ozzy Osbourne comes to his defense. Here's the story and all the rest of the week's more notable events.

MTV: The local opposition that's met Marilyn Manson's tour, "Route 666," we like to call it, continued this week, as Ozzy Osbourne vowed to sue the New Jersey Meadowlands. The venue, citing security concerns and a potentially offensive show, refuses to host the June 15th Ozz-Fest show if Manson stays on the bill.

But Manson won a victory on Monday in Richmond, Virginia, where the city council voted, in a special session, to allow Manson to play the Richmond Coliseum on May 10th. A threatened suit from the band changed the tune of the city manager Robert C. Bobb, who felt Manson does not reflect Richmond's "community standards.
