Marcy Playground Shoots Video, Plans Mini-Tour

Marcy Playground has wrapped up a video shoot in Toronto for its new single, "It's Saturday," with veteran director Peter Christopherson, who's helmed clips for Nine Inch Nails and Filter, among others.

The song, scheduled for release September 20, takes place "entirely under the bedsheets," according to the band's manager, who declined to elaborate. The single is expected out September 20, while the album, "Shapeshifter," is scheduled for release November 2 (see [article id="1431667"]"Marcy Playground Readies New Record"[/article]).

The group's manager also told MTV News that "Shapeshifter" will be an enhanced CD featuring the band's three videos from its debut album as well as "Coming Up From Behind" from the "Cruel Intentions" soundtrack. The new clip for "It's Saturday" will not be included.

Fans pre-ordering the album from participating Web retailers will be able to preview the whole album for six weeks prior to its release. Beginning

September 25, two tracks per week will be available through a variety of online retailers. The tracks cannot be accessed as of November 2.

Meanwhile, Marcy Playground made its first live appearance in 1999 on September 11 at a radio station concert in Chicago, but unfortunately an appearance in Dayton, Ohio the following night was cancelled when a bandmember missed a flight. The date has been rescheduled to October 9.

The group will soon be announcing dates for a short tour scheduled to kick off November 2 in New York City and ending around Thanksgiving.
