Manfred Mann, the British keyboardist best known for scoring a number one with his Earth Band in 1977 on a cover of Bruce Springsteen's "Blinded By the Light," has filed a copyright infringement suit against U.K. trip-hoppers Massive Attack.

In a suit filed last month in a High Court in London, Mann claims that "Black Milk," a song from Massive Attack's critically acclaimed 1998 album, "Mezzanine," uses an unauthorized snippet of "Tribute," a cut off of "Manfred Mann's Earth Band" record from 1972, according to Billboard.

Mann's lawsuit cites Virgin Records and Massive Attack's Grant Marshall, Robert del Naja and Andrew Vowles as defendants in the case, which seeks approximately $150,000 in damages and an injunction barring the inclusion of the "Tribute" sample or "Black Milk" track on any future pressings of "Mezzanine."

Neither Virgin Records nor Massive Attack have publicly responded to the lawsuit as of yet, but we'll keep you posted.
