Luscious Jackson Chat It Up

Jan. 28 [14:00 EST] -- Luscious Jackson will stop by the MTV Online nerve center Tuesday night to chat about their unique blend of street rhythms and swinging melodies, and their latest album, "Fever In, Fever Out.

Jill Cuniff, Gabrielle Glaser, Kate Schellenbach, and Vivian Trimble will turn up in the MTV Arena in America Online (keyword: MTVarena) Tuesday, January 28 at 9:30 p.m. Eastern Time.

The band first jumped into mainstream consciousness when they signed to the Beastie Boys' Grand Royal record label, and released the 1992 EP "In Search Of Manny." While their association with the Beasties opened some doors for them, they have been trying to prove themselves as more than just "the female Beastie Boys" for years. They started to carve out an identity for themselves with the "City Song" single from their 1994 album "Natural Ingredients," and their appearance on the second stage at Lollapalooza that summer.

Now, with 1996's "Fever In, Fever Out," it seems

that their smooth, popping sound is free of any Beastie comparisons.

So if you want to ask them about shedding the Beastie-tag, working with Emmylou Harris on "Fever..." or their appearance on "The Adventures of Pete and Pete," check out the chat Tuesday night in the MTV Arena.
