Limp Unveils More Cities As Free Tour Launch Looms

Detroit's State Theater will be the first venue to test-drive Limp Bizkit's free tour prototype when the Napster-sponsored trek begins on Tuesday.

On Monday, Napster revealed the venue for the first two dates of Limp's free tour with Cypress Hill, prompting fans to descend on the State Theater with hopes of making it in to Tuesday night's show.

While dates and cities have been announced for part of the tour (see [article id="1431254"]"Limp Bizkit Pushes Back Free Tour"[/article]), venues are not being announced until 24 to 48 hours before each show. Wristbands are then being handed out to fans on a first-come, first-served basis before each show.

In announcing where Detroit fans can catch Limp for free, Napster also announced eight new cities that will see the tour roll into town. Limp had previously announced plans to hit Boston and New York after Detroit, and now Napster has revealed that the tour will go on to hit Jacksonville, Florida;

Atlanta, Georgia; Chicago, Illinois; Kansas City, Missouri; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Dallas, Texas; Denver, Colorado; and San Francisco, California. Napster also notes that additional Southern California dates have yet to be announced.

The open offer of free Limp Bizkit tickets is expected to draw tens of thousands of fans to each stop on the tour, and with the outing expected to hit venues that hold only 3,000 to 5,000 people, many are saying that the tour is a disaster waiting to happen.

[article id="1447048"]"I think if you're putting that kind of energy out, it's a bad thing,"[/article] Limp frontman Fred Durst told MTV News' Brian McFayden on Monday in Detroit. [article id="1447048"]"I think that our fans, our generation, we're not those kind of people. You put people in an environment like Woodstock, and something like that might happen, but not here. We're giving them water, food, taking care of everybody. People are bringing their own

food. Everything is going to be fine. You know, no problems here, just Cypress Hill and Limp Bizkit rocking the house for free." [RealVideo][/article]
