LFO Promises "More Rock" On Next Album

Sonicnet Music News

Though LFO have scored hits with R&B-flavored pop tunes, the trio's next album will be more rockin', the group said recently.

Backstage after a performance on the Nickelodeon "All That" Music & More tour in Concord, California, LFO's Devin Lima, Rich Cronin, and Brad Fischetti said they were pleased with the success of their self-titled 1999 album and that they're looking forward to greater creative control on their upcoming follow-up.

The album is going to be more rock," Cronin said.

You are going to hear more acoustics," Lima added.

But the sound you hear in 'Summer Girls' and those other songs will be there, too," Fischetti said, referring to the group's breakthrough hit from last year.

The three wrote many of the lyrics on "LFO" and will write an even greater share of the material on the next album, they said.

Lima even hopes to contribute to the new disc's artwork. The singer,

who said drawing is his first passion, has been working on a comic book that portrays the pop group as superheroes and hopes to have it included with the new CD's packaging.

Once the group completes the "All That" Music & More tour, which has dates scheduled into September, LFO will head back to the studio to record their next album, Arista Records spokesperson Thomas Martin said.

Meanwhile, the group's new single, "West Side Story," already is in rotation on pop-radio stations. The track will be commercially released in August, Martin said.
