Ben Lee Teams With Harmony Korine For New Album

For his next album, Ben Lee found an unlikely creative partner in Harmony Korine, the man whose twisted visions have brought the world films like "Kids" and "Gummo.

Lee hooked up with Korine to pen the song "Breathing Tornados," the title track to his similarly misspelled upcoming album which is expected to arrive in February of next year.

[article id="1446891"]"I've just known him for a few years, and this was just one of the those things," [/article] Lee said before taking the stage at New York's Irving Plaza Saturday for a Grand Royal Records showcase at the annual CMJ Music Marathon.

[article id="1446891"] "We decided to write a song together, and it was about stuff that he more personally had gone through, and I got to sort of vicariously live those feelings through the lyrics he was contributing to this song. So for me it was invaluable. I get to play that song every night and feel that that may as well have been my experience

and now I don't have to go through it, you know." [28.8 RealVideo] [/article]

Lee will next be spotted playing some dates in his native Australia, and hopes to launch a U.S. tour early next year near the release of "Breathing.
