L.L. Cool J Pitches In For "Deep Blue Sea" Soundtrack

While furthering his acting career with the upcoming action flick "Deep Blue Sea, " L.L. Cool J is also exercising his musical muscles for the project.

L.L. has recorded two tracks for the film's soundtrack, which will arrive in August on the rapper's own Rock The Bells record label (which falls under the Warner Bros. umbrella). L.L. does the honors on the soundtrack's first single, "Deepest Bluest (Shark's Fin)," which should hit radio in late July. He also contributes a song called "Say What" to the album.

The soundtrack will also feature cuts from Amyth, Natice, Simeon Starks, and Smokeman, who have all signed on to L.L.'s label. Cormega, Carl Thomas, Hi-C & DJ Quik, Bass Odyssey, and Fate also turn up on the collection.

The film, from director Renny Harlin ("Cliffhanger," "Die Hard 2"), pits L.L., Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Rapaport, Saffron Burrows, and Stellan Skarsgård against a batch of genetically altered sharks. The movie hits theaters on July 30, while the soundtrack

hits stores on August 3.
