Korn Overcomes Follow-Up Pressure On Rock Is Dead Tour

Following closely on the heels of its highly-successful 1998 Family Values Tour, Korn this week embarked on a six week outing with Rob Zombie, who was originally supposed to be a part of the Family Values cavalcade.

While on the road, Korn frontman Jonathan Davis spoke to MTV News' John Norris about the pressure of reprising the success of the Family Values Tour, which grossed more than $6 million during its 27-show run.

[article id="1446693"]"Honestly, Family Values killed us,"[/article] Davis said. [article id="1446693"]"'Follow The Leader' came out, and we're getting accepted now, and all this fame or whatever was coming into our lives, and it really tore the band apart. It tore us up."[/article]

[article id="1446693"]"Because we've always taken it a level at a time,"[/article] he continued, [article id="1446693"]"and it's always [like this]. We go through our phases where the band's all torn up and everything because

we're just trying to deal with all of this. It's so much coming down on you, all the fame and everything. You guys are embracing us now and everybody's coming to the party now."[/article]

Korn and Rob Zombie will bring their Rock Is Dead Tour to Biloxi, Mississippi's Coast Coliseum on Friday. For more from their joint tour, be sure to check out this week's "MTV News 1515," airing on Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday at 12 noon.
