Limp Bizkit Taps Kid Rock For Summer Tour

While organizers firm up plans for this year's Limp Bizkit-led Family Values tour, the band has announced it will head out on the road with Kid Rock for a five-week summer outing, kicking off on June 12 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

So far, Limp Bizkit remains the only band confirmed for Family Values '99, although rumors have surfaced (and been subsequently refuted) that such acts as Eminem and Filter might perform on the sequel to last fall's highly successful, Korn-fronted tour (see [article id="1431295"]"Limp Bizkit Leading Family Values, But Who Will Join Them?"[/article]).

MTV News recently caught up with Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst, who talked about the preview nature of the band's upcoming dates with Kid Rock.

[article id="1446520"]"It's a little taster tour for Family Values,"[/article] Durst said. [article id="1446520"]"It's like, this is the tour to let you come out, get a taste of the new record, new songs, and just realize

what's happening here. Realize that you'd better get a ticket and get there because we're not playing big venues and we're going to come back on Family Values and really stick it up your a**, but this time."[/article]

[article id="1446520"]"Right now it sucks,"[/article] he added, [article id="1446520"]"because we don't know the songs. We [just] wrote 'em and it's our first time playing them [in rehearsals] and I'm so frustrated right now. I think that we suck." [RealVideo][/article]

The Limp Bizkit-Kid Rock tour will also mark some of Bizkit's first concert dates in support of its new album, "Significant Other," due in stores on June 22. Both Kid Rock and Limp Bizkit are slated to wrap up their joint tour with an appearance at the Woodstock '99 Festival being held in Rome, New York from July 23-25.
