Jay-Z Causes A Ruckus At Virgin Megastore

What started out as an attempt to give a little love back to his fans turned into a minor ruckus when rapper Jay-Z paid an impromptu visit to the Virgin Megastore in New York's Times Square on Tuesday.

The rapper had been guesting on MTV's "Total Request Live" that afternoon to pump this week's release of his "Vol. 3 - Life & Times Of S. Carter," and tried to swing across the street to Virgin for an unplanned meet and greet with fans.

However, a throng of Jay-Z fans outside the MTV studio as well as pre-New Year's Eve crowds in Times Square conspired against him, and Jay-Z was mobbed as he tried to make his way in to the store. As things grew more hectic, store management actually asked the rapper to leave the store, and Jay made his way back across Times Square to the somewhat more docile confines of "TRL."

Jay will make his way back to Times Square to further promote the album on MTV's New Year's Eve shindig Friday night.
