James To Help Out Greenpeace

March 6 [14:00 EST] -- Veteran English rock outfit James will do their part to make the world a little greener.

The band has pledged to donate all mechanical royalties (for more on precisely what "mechanical royaties" are, check out the royalty distribution organization BMI's website at www.bmi.com) from their song "Greenpeace" to the environmental protection organization of the same name.

The track turns up on the band's new album, "Whiplash," which hit stores on February 25. The album is the seventh full-length studio effort from the band, which formed in 1982.

James recently turned up on "The Late Show With David Letterman" to crank out "She's A Star" before heading off to the U.K. for a string of dates that will run through most of March.
