Besides nailing down two number one hits with "You Make Me Wanna" and "Nice and Slow," Usher has now scored the opening slot for Janet Jackson's upcoming Velvet Rope Tour.

Jackson is still considering additional opening acts to be named in the future, while Usher is currently on the road with Mary J. Blige through mid-April (see [article id="1426165"]"Usher Talks Tour With Mary J. Blige And, Perhaps, Janet Jackson"[/article]).

As we previously reported (see [article id="1430414"]"Janet Jackson Sets U.S. Dates For Rope Tour"[/article]), Jackson will launch her U.S. tour in Washington, D.C. on July 9, and will end three months later in New York City with a pair of Madison Square Garden concerts on October 10 and 11.
