Jam Bands And More For Gathering Of The Vibes

Gathering Of The Vibes, one of the most anticipated summer festivals for fun-lovin' roots rockers in the Northeast U.S., has scheduled its fifth annual installment to take place on June 23-25 at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

This year, the three-day event (which is positioned, as tradition has it, to coincide with the summer solstice) will bring together some of the most popular bands on the ever-growing jam scene as well as some of its newest faces.

Gracing two separate stages (as well as a third "campground stage" for late-night sets) and a wide range of genres, participating artists include Grateful Dead guitarist Bob Weir's rock outfit Ratdog, funky jam-slammers Moe., the mandolin-led, jazz-grassy David Grisman Quintet, and trance groove unit Sector 9.

As promoter Ken Hays explained in the festival press release, "Gathering Of The Vibes started as a grassroots response to the death of Jerry Garcia, an attempt at keeping some of the

Grateful Dead spirit and community alive. Five years later, to see what the Vibes has become is amazing. Each year, there's been an aura of positive energy and unlimited possibility that's simply exhilarating. This year promises to be the best yet.

You can check out the full lineup for the festival, purchase advance tickets (currently priced at $75, including a three-day camping pass), or find the participating ticket outlet nearest you at www.gatheringofthevibes.com.
