Garbage Puts Bond To Bed; B-Sides, Remixes Up Next

After gathering in Canada to finish up work on the new James Bond theme, Garbage is back home in Madison, Wisconsin and about to turn its attention to a pending album of b-sides.

The band spent last week at Vancouver's Armoury Studios putting the finishing touches on "The World Is Not Enough," the theme from the Bond movie of the same name. The band's official Web site reports that the single and video will be released in early October, while the movie is scheduled to hit theaters on November 19.

The bulk of the song was recorded with an 83-piece orchestra in a London studio back in July. The track, which was written by film composer David Arnold and longtime Bond-theme lyricist Don Black, has been described in the British press as a dramatic, vintage Bond-movie ballad.

According to messages posted on the band's official Web site, Garbage will now be spending much of September working on an album of b-sides and remixes which will be released either before Christmas

or early in the new year.
