Godsmack, Gang Starr To Play Boston Music Awards

Godsmack, Gang Starr, Donna Summer, and Susan Tedeschi will all take the stage for the 13th Annual Kahlua Boston Music Awards, slated for the city's Orpheum Theater on April 13.

The Push Stars, Orchestra Morphine, Angry Salad, and The Sheila Divine are also scheduled to play the event, which will help kick off Boston's NEMO Music Showcase And Conference, being held April 13-15.

MTV's Dave Holmes will serve as the host for this year's gala, which honors artists from the Boston and New England area in 37 categories covering rock, metal, hip-hop, reggae, ska, lounge, and jazz music on both major and independent labels.

Hip-hop pioneers Gang Starr and disco diva Donna Summer will receive this year's Hall Of Fame Awards in recognition of their perseverance and continued achievement on the national music scene.

Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun will be on hand to accept the first Ertegun Impact Award, which will be subsequently given to a business figure

who has helped shape the music industry. Ertegun also helped found the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 1983 with "Rolling Stone" publisher Jann Wenner.
