Aretha Franklin -- Queen Of Soul Food?

Aretha Franklin has been acknowledged as the Queen Of Soul for three decades, and she may soon be updating her title to be "Queen Of Soul Music And Food.

Franklin has plans to write a cookbook, and she has also been offered a cooking show on TV from the producers of the ever-popular "Emeril Live" show, according to an interview published by the Reuters news service. She is looking to turn America on to the delights of home cooking such entrees as baked ham, oxtail soup, banana pudding, and peach cobbler.

The legendary singer, who appears on Mary J. Blige's latest album, "Mary," is currently studying opera at New York's Julliard School and is working on an album of operatic arias to be released on her own label, World Class Records.

Franklin, who has won 16 Grammys and was the first woman inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, has just released her autobiography, "Aretha: From These Roots," co-written with David Ritz ("Blues All Around Me : The Autobiography

of B.B. King").
