Fans hoping to get a taste of the Foo Fighters' long-anticipated new album at this summer's Woodstock festival will have to wait a bit longer.

The band (which was set to perform at the three-day music festival with Kid Rock, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alanis Morissette, Limp Bizkit) says that it pulled out of Woodstock '99 to finish mixing its next record. Sources close to the festival say that there may have also been scheduling problems that made it difficult for the complete Foo lineup to take the stage.

The Foos are expected to drop their as-yet-untitled follow-up to 1997's "The Colour and the Shape" sometime this fall. The band has yet to determine which record label will handle the album.

As we reported last week, Aerosmith dropped off the festival as well, blaming "mutual production problems," but spokespeople for Woodstock say there are no production issues on their end (see [article id="1424698"]"Aerosmith Off Woodstock Lineup, More Acts To Be Added

Of course, that still leaves almost 40 artists on the Woodstock '99 roster, and later this week organizers are expected to announce more additions to the event, which kicks off on July 23 in Rome, New York. Tickets are still available for the festival, and are available through Ticketmaster.com.
