Rap Pioneers Jungle Brothers, EPMD Return

June 2 [10:00 EDT] -- Two familiar faces from the late 80s rap scene are about to resurface.

The Jungle Brothers, who set the stage for wave of jazz-rappers before calling it quits in 1993, return to record stores this week with "Raw Deluxe.

The effort from the highly-influential outfit (its first since 1993's "J. Beez Wit the Remedy") has already earned critical praise.

The Jungle Brothers, Afrika Baby Bambaataa and Sammy B. rose to prominence with De La Soul and Queen Latifah as a surging group of 60s influenced rappers known collectively as the Native Tongues.

Meanwhile, EPMD, the New York rap duo that broke through with 1988's "Strictly Business," is now back together after disbanding four years ago. Partners Erick Sermon and Parrish Smith have laid down several new tracks in the past few months, and say they want to have an album, called "Back In Business," out later this year.

They're definitely shipping a single to radio in July, called

"Never Seen Before," which will also be on the soundtrack of the upcoming Bill Bellamy movie, "How To Be A Player.
