Eastsidaz Added To "Smoke" Tour; Talk "Beef" Single

After releasing an album executive produced by Snoop Dogg in January, Tha Eastsidaz will now join Snoop, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Eminem, Warren G, Kurupt, and Xzibit for the "Up In Smoke" tour.

The high-powered hip-hop and rap outing will light up beginning on June 15 in San Diego (see [article id="1428248"]"Dre, Snoop, Ice Cube, Eminem To Go 'Up In Smoke'"[/article]), and Eastsidaz Tray Deee and Goldie Loc will be out promoting their "Snoop Dogg Presents Tha Eastsidaz" LP and their new single, "Got Beef.

Tray Deee and Goldie Loc recently talked with the MTV Radio Network about "Got Beef," a track that features guest spots by Jayo Felony and Sylk E. Fine, and whose origins grew out of a peacemaking barbecue party.

"It's an L.T. Hutton-produced track," Tray Deee said. "We

were all hanging

out, and it was my cousin's birthday... so we all went out to L.T.'s house with a few females and homeboys. We sat around the pool and the jacuzzi, y'know, and smoked and barbecued and straightened out a couple of problems that was existing between the Dogg Pound."

"We got to the heart of the matter," he continued, "'cause we're family that ain't never gonna break up. Let me state that for the record. No matter if it's the Gang or Tha Eastsidaz, the Dogg Pound Gangstas is the Dogg Pound Gangstas. It don't matter. We stay true to the paw.

"We just kicked it and came up with the concept, like if anybody wanted to see us, we were gonna make it known that we were still a force to be reckoned with. And we just brought Jay on there, 'cause he's a true Eastsida from San Diego and West Coast out at the

same time. We were

representing, and we banged it out." [RealAudio]

Deee also explained some of the Dogghouse themes and film references explored in the accompanying "Got Beef" video.

"It's off the hook, man," Deee said of the clip. "It's got some 'Batman'-player kind of secret compartments [in the video] and all that. It's a live video. People are gonna vibe off of it, they're gonna get loud. They're gonna see that we're not back in the world famous Eastsidaz Dogghouse jackets, but we're still doing our thing. We got a 'Matrix' effect and all that in there. It's real gangsta, and Chris Robinson directed it." [RealAudio]

Tha Eastsidaz' "Got Beef" was one of the most added tracks to urban radio stations last week, and the group's album has already sold more than 545,000 copies, according to SoundScan.
