Dave Matthews Band Pushes Back Album Release

Fans of The Dave Matthews Band who are eagerly awaiting the group's follow-up to 1998's "Before These Crowded Streets" will have to cool their heels a little longer.

As we previously reported, the band is plugging away in a Virginia recording studio, and had hoped to have a new album finished by mid-June before launching its sold out U.S. tour on June 19 in Columbus, Ohio (see [article id="1427858"]"Tinsley Offers Dave Matthews Band Progress Report"[/article]).

However, the group's camp now says that the quickly approaching tour launch means that the band will not be able to finish recording the album before the tour. As a result, DMB has moved the release date of the new album from late summer to late November.

Fans will be able to get their fix of new material from the band on the road as the group plans to road-test some of its new songs before reentering the studio with producer Steve Lillywhite on October 1.
