Macy Gray, D'Angelo, More To Join Guru

D'Angelo, Erykah Badu, Macy Gray, Maxwell, Isaac Hayes, and others are lining up to join Gang Starr's Guru on the third installment of his "Jazzmatazz" series.

The Roots, Angie Stone, Les Nubians, Kelis, Amel Larrieux, Herbie Hancock, and Bilal also plan to record with Guru for "Jazzmatazz III: Street Soul." Guru and Stone got together in the studio on Tuesday, and the rapper plans to hook up with Bilal in a Detroit studio this weekend. Guru has already recorded with Larrieux, and expects to put the finishing touches on that song next week. He also expects to record with D'Angelo and Hancock some time in the next three weeks.

Guru has already wrapped up "Plenty" with Badu, "All I Said" with Macy Gray, and "Supa Love" with Kelis.

When "Jazzmatazz III" finally emerges, it will also feature the production talents of Dallas Austin, The Neptune, DJ Scratch, Jay Dee, The Roots, fellow Gang Starr member DJ Premier, and Guru himself.

Guru's previous

efforts under the "Jazzmatazz" umbrella included cuts from Chaka Khan, Jamiroquai, Roy Ayers, Donald Byrd, Ramsey Lewis, Me'Shell N'degeocello, MC Solaar, and Lonnie Liston Smith.
