Coolio Pleads Innocent (Again) To Weapons Charges

Coolio was in a Superior Court in Torrance, California yesterday to re-enter a not guilty plea to the concealed weapon charge he was arrested for last September.

The rapper is scheduled to appear before the court on July 7 for another pretrial hearing, according to the Associated Press, although the new date will allow Coolio to complete his "18-City Mission" tour before the legal proceedings get underway (see [article id="1427463"]"Coolio Spotlights New Artists On Album, Tour"[/article])

Coolio originally pleaded innocent to the charges during another pretrial hearing in February, then changed his plea to no contest a month later. In April, Coolio withdrew his no contest plea altogether.

As we previously reported (see [article id="1427475"]"Coolio Arrested On Weapons, Drug Charges"[/article]), the "Fantastic Voyage" rapper was pulled over by police in Lawndale, California for a minor traffic violation.

During the stop, Coolio told the

police that there was a gun in the car, and officers confiscated a 9 mm semiautomatic pistol located in a side door pouch. He was subsequently charged with being in possession of a concealed weapon.

On June 2, Coolio will launch the aforementioned tour of artists signed to his Crowbar Records, including Dy'Verse Society, Rated R, Rukus, and Krazy Khrome.
