Coal Chamber Gets Good Sales News As Type O Negative Tour Looms

Just as the band prepares to renew the push behind its 1999 sophomore album, the nouveau metallers of Coal Chamber got a bit of good sales news about their 1997 self-titled debut.

While prepping to return to the road in support of last year's "Chamber Music," the band learned that '97's "Coal Chamber" has just been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.

The news comes as the band prepares to deliver a new single, "Tyler's Song," to radio this week and readies for a co-headlining tour with Type O Negative. The trek will see Coal Chamber bassist Rayna Foss Rose return to the fold after taking a lengthy maternity leave (see [article id="1427182"]"Coal Chamber Bassist To Return For Tour With Type O Negative"[/article]).

The Coal Chamber-Type O Negative tour should see the bands visit more than 40 U.S. cities beginning later this month, but an itinerary has yet to be firmed up.
