Chuck D Says Rage Would Be Only Choice For Public Enemy E Collaboration

"Well if anything comes close to any collaboration it might be a PE/Rage Against the Machine thing, cause I've known the guys for quite some time. Tom Morello, Zack," [150k Audio File] Chuck told the MTV Radio Network.

"Just to give you a story, in one of my offices they sent one of their early demos to me. I wasn't in a position to pick it up and put it out at that time, and also in '94 they opened up for a few of our shows, and then went on to become the supergroup that they are, so I think doing one cut together makes sense." Speaking about the common ground the two groups share, Chuck said, "We don’t make nice records.

There's no word yet from the Rage camp about the likelihood of Chuck's suggestion becoming a reality.

Of course, neither Public Enemy nor Rage Against The Machine are strangers to such unions.

Public Enemy teamed with Anthrax in 1991 for a remake of the PE classic "Bring The Noise," and Rage (minus frontman Zack de la Rocha) worked with Snoop Doggy Dogg last year on an as-yet-unreleased track.
