Brandy Cuts Short American Tour To Make TV Return

A call for an early return to the set of her UPN television series, “Moesha,” has forced Brandy to cut short her U.S. tour schedule, which will now come to a close after a July 6 concert in Chicago.

The tour, which marks Brandy’s first global expedition, has seen the singer headline shows in France, Germany, Holland, and Japan. Brandy won’t kick off her U.S. dates until June 18 in Camden, New Jersey, and she is expected to return to an L.A. soundstage approximately a month later.

In addition to “Moesha,” Brandy has also taken recent star turns in the made-for-TV movie “Double Platinum” as well as the big screen horror sequel, “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.” In a recent interview with the MTV Radio Network, Brandy talked about some of the differences in her approach to film as opposed to TV.

“Movies are so different,” Brandy said. “Even the camera actions are so different. They shoot
from every angle and it’s just more real in movies. It’s so expanded. Your face is so big on that screen [that the audience] can see everything you’re thinking.”

“And that was a challenge for me,”
she continued, “because I had to be as real as possible. I couldn’t fake anything. I had to be real” [RealAudio].
